The Deputy Town Clerk role coordinates political and policy advice for the City Corporation’s senior officers and elected Members, and is responsible for the organisation’s civic leadership, governance, strategic security and resilience, health and safety, and elected Member and democratic services as well as overseeing the City of London Police Authority and the London Metropolitan Archives. Ensuring alignment and cohesion across these areas is crucial and this post requires highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders throughout London and beyond.

As a result, we are seeking a candidate with exceptional leadership abilities, an outstanding track record of senior-level achievements, and the credibility to inspire and deliver in a fast-paced and complex environment. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative thinker with exceptional political and organisational nous.
